Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has announced that Mark Geoffrey Whitehouse of Corlette, New South Wales, has been convicted in the Newcastle District Court on one charge of breaching his duties as a director of MGW Roofing (Newcastle) Pty Ltd.

Mr Whitehouse, an undischarged bankrupt, was sentenced to 350 hours community service. The conviction follows an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Mr Whitehouse also appeared before the Newcastle Local Court on 14 May 2009 on a charge of managing the company while disqualified. He was fined $1800 and ordered to pay court costs.

The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted the matter.
